We have so far supported Bashir to secure an unconditional offer on the Masters course, paying the deposit for his tuition fees and liaising on his behalf with the Admissions Office. We are exploring all potential scholarships and bursaries, and the options for university accommodation.

We are committed to staying in contact with Bashir throughout the process and providing him with ongoing practical, and moral, support whilst we seek to finalise the arrangements for him to leave Gaza and take up his University place.

We now need to help him get everything in place to apply for a visa.

Bashir’s longer term hope is to assist in the restoration and rebuilding of Gaza after the war. A postgraduate degree from an internationally recognised university will enable him to build a career and make a new life for his family and give his children opportunities to learn, grow and develop in safety.

We wish to support Bashir to gain the skills to provide for his family and one day, contribute to rebuilding his homeland.
