Project costs
We want to be completely transparent about the real costs of the project. The project costs are significant - estimated to be approximately £40,000 - and we have broken them down and set them out below.
Despite his living conditions, Bashir is constantly working to reduce the funding requirements: whenever he can get internet connection he is pursuing all relevant scholarships, & has committed to find work (up to the legal maximum of 20 hours a week) throughout his time in Ireland.

A non-EU national who wishes to live in Ireland for longer than 90 days is required to obtain a visa to enter the country and a residence permit to reside there.

The course fees for a Masters Degree in Digital Innovation at University College Dublin are EU 23,870 for overseas students.

Non-European students coming to Ireland for studies need to provide proof of private medical insurance as part of their visa application. Having insurance in place is a pre-requisite for entering the country.

The University estimates total living expenses will amount to EU 20,863. This covers all anticipated living expenses for the duration of the course, including accommodation, bills, food and study materials.

Exit from Gaza will need to be by diplomatic evacuation. The University College Dublin is a University of Sanctuary and will meet the costs of evacuation as part of their commitment under the Universities of Sanctuary Scheme.

Everyone involved in this project is working as a volunteer and contributing their time and resources freely.
